218 bee vs. 17 rem vs. 221 fireball
I hunt predators for their fur...so that means that i need to shoot a smaller caliber. Well right now im hunting with a 223 AI. Its leaves a lil bitty pin hole thru the fur. And im wanting to get a new caliber and need help choosing...i role my own for all rifles.

In that class, you neglected 1 of the best lil cartridges I've ever used-the .22 K hornet. The hornet is kind of ho-hum due to being extremely finicky in accuracy/load development, but rechambering it to "K" makes it an entirely different critter. It's what the hornet should have been designed in the 1st place instead of simply loading the old winchester centerfire blackpowder cartridge with smokeless powder and calling it the hornet. Advantages to "K" are: brass can be fireformed by firing factory loaded hornet ammo, gain 300 fps, longer case life, easier extraction, more accurate,MUCH easier to find accurate load, and MUCH less finicky to load for without running into pressure issues which istypical with a lot of tiny cases.

218 Bee and 22K Hornet are pretty much the same beast. I have had a little better accuracy with the 218 Bee over the standard 22 Hornet, but I have never owned a K-Hornet so I can not comment on them.
I am not following what you want. If you are getting pin holes with your 223 then what more do you want. The only thing better than pin holes is a hammer to the head when you catch them in a live trap.
The 17 is a great fur cartridge if you watch your bullet selection and velocity. Good luck with that. Tom.
