Very good point,never thought of that since most of my hunting is in home state of ky where we VERY seldom have to worry about that.

Why don't you like the safety to lie directly under thumb without having to remove natural grip to manipulate safety on right side?

If the Browning freezes up I'd hate to see how much snow/ice would accumulate in the Remmy 700 safety
