.308vs5.56 in a ar15.
I am looking at buying another ar. I really would like a bigger round then a 5.56 or .223 I was thinking a .308 or 7.62
Which would you buy i know the rifle cost more in a .308 but how much more would i pay on a 1000 rounds any good place on online to buy good ammo
Heck when i had my last i bought 1000 rounds of 5.56 for around 100 to 150. Can not belive the increase in a few years

An AR10 would be the .308 version of the your 5.56 AR15, better for longer range hits. Remington is chambering their new AR version (R25) in .308, .243, and 7mm/08. You can also get open market AR'schambered in 6.8 SPC and the6.5 Grendel, both of which are being studied by the Military for it's next new chambering. Last but not least, you can get uppers inother calibers, just switch it out with your existing lower for a whole new gun at a quite a bit less money.Ammo cost will likely be higher for the bigger calibers, simple physics of more lead/copper/powder/brass being used.
