also i have had two 500s in the past and have no proplem with them and will always own one. In fact when i go to muzzleloader next year the 500 will be changed into a home defense gun.

Mossberg does indeed make a good for the dollar,but over the years,I've had too many 500s come in for repair to like them near as much as 870s.

Well... I just got my $6oo back pay and I am ready to buy.
Now I just need to find the best deal on the 870 combo in CAMO! Is there a good source you all would recommend?

Would any of you recommend a scope for the deer barrel?

YA if it was me i would go with a rifled barrel but that will not allow the use of shotshell.

I am going for the combo, so I can have BOTH barrels!
The plan is to hunt Turkey and Deer with the same gun by switching barrels.

Just got off the phone with Cabela's
They have them for $399.99 IN CAMO!!!! NICE!!!!
That beats the P!ss out of other prices so far.

I have the bushnell trophy 3-9x40 rifle scope for my rifled barrel. nice scope....not overly expensive.

I have the same thing on my CVA Optima. Very nice scope, not expensive at all.
