Default 357 mag ?

I have a question to any one that has any knowledge of the 357 magnun. i have a ruger black hawk. i have been looking for a good load for hunting and have found some pretty decent loads however i just came across federal load with a model number of c357g HP power shok. the stats for this bullet are of the charts for a 357mag, muzzle velocity of 1550 and energy of 960. my question is, could my handgun shoot it because this bullet is located on the rifle section of federals website but not on the handgun section. if you look this round up make sure you find the HP and not the JHP because they are two differnt bullets with the same model number of c357g.

Default RE: 357 mag ?

If you found them in the rifle section they were most likely tested in a rifle rather then a pistol. What that means is it was tested with a longer barrel 18'' rather then 6'' or there abouts. The longer barrel gives more push behind the bulletcreating more velocity and energy.
