Default You carry a handgun with your while hunting?

Whether it's for small or big game, do you carry one with you? if so, why? i'm just curious..

personally, i carry it as a back up weapon incase i am attacked by some big animal and the rifle is too slow... OR worst case, incase other human beings pose a threat to me and I can't use my rifle in time.

I carry mine with me (it's legal to carry during archery season in Virginia). It's better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it. You just never know what's up high on the mountain ridges.

Do I carry a handgun when hunting? Very rarely. Do I carry a handgun when I go into town? You better believe it!! A lot more prdeators in town than in the woods.....

You might want to recheck the regulations. Possesion of a firearm while bowhunting is illegal in Virginia. The exception isif you have a concealed carry permit. Don't want you to have an unpleasent experiance with the game warden.

Yep. I carry it because I hunt in a lot of really thick brush can't see four feet at times and a rifle can get in the way if you are tracking a deer in that stuff.
