RE: Gun Related Injuries
I like Hog' s answer the best.
My answer is lack of education and, more importantly, lack of common sense. I love the commercials on TV about firearm related injuries. In most cases the kids find the gun (loaded, safety off, no trigger-lock) in the nightstand beside the bed, and then start playing cowboys and indians with a neighbor' s kid, sibling, family pet, etc. when the accident happens. The truth is, this is how most firearm related injuries happen. People just aren' t careful enough with their firearms, so then unfortunately their kid dies, and then the join CeaseFire and to try to get rid of our 2nd ammendment rights.
My favorite commercial is the one where the two kids are smoking pot in one of the kids father' s den. One kid finds a loaded pistol left out on his dad' s desk (of course with no trigger lock or safety on) and accidentally shoots the other kid. I think this was an anti-drug commercial though.
I do consider myself to be somewhat liberal (though really more middle of the road) with regards to political issues, but some of these liberal organizations are just batty sensationalists. [&:]
