Yes there are quality bullets. Yes shot placement is the most important thing. But don't we all agree that by moving up a notch we do a little more justice to the animal on those less than perfect moments we all have happen. I also know that anyone old enough to hunt can probably handle atleast a 243.

Why would someone choose a bow and arrow to hunt with ? A .223 is 10 times more proficient than a bow.
Just put it this way, if you were dropped off deep in the woods for a month and had to live off the land, your choice of weapon, a bow and arrow or a .223, which would you chose.

That sounds like the anti-gun people when they ask why you need a gun in the first place. 223 will kill anything you shoot with it, so long as you hit it right, just like any other round. I don't think I would try a high shoulder shot with it, but other than that, it's a good round for anything walking around in North America.
