Howa manufactures the Vanguard series of rifles for Weatherby and I believe the Howa 1500 is almost exactly the same as the Vanguard except that it does not come in Weatherby magnum chamberings. They are excellent well made rifles. You could pay hundreds of dollars more and still not do nearly as well as you will with a Howa or Weatherby Vanguard.
