Default New Rifle - Goofy looking or not???

On a different thread, I ask about the accuracy of the Model 700 Mountain SS as I was considering buying one in .243win. The advice given was not to over scope it as it would look "goofy". Because I already had a Zeiss Conquest 4.5x14x44mm, I didn't want to spend another $500 on a Zeiss 3x9. I brought the scope with me to Gander Mountain this afternoon and held it up to the rifle. I thought it looked ok. The gunsmith mounted and bore sighted it for me and upon shoudering, it has quick target aquisition.

Below is a picture ofmy new Rem 700 Mountian SS with the Zeiss 4.5x14.44mm. Below that is my new rifle compared to my Rem 700 SPS SS in .300 WSMwith the same scope in black.

My question is, do you think it "looks goofy".

Personally I do not care for the silver scopes. But I do not think anyone could call a rig like that "goofy looking".

That is one great rig. Have you shot it yet. And if not then what are you waiting for??

Looks goofy to me and I'll be glad to take it off your hands.

Not goofy at all although I prefer matte black scopes... "to each his own".

About the same time metrosexuals started asking which scope finish goes well with their stock and barrel finish.[&:]

Come on guys, give the guy a break. Most any gun nut loves a good looking rifle. I love a custom rifle with AAA highly figured walnut. Deep bluing.

But on this one, I am not crazy about silver scopes either.
