I bought my Dad a Benelli R1 in .270 WSM, its a pretty sweet rifle, it handles like a shotgun.

There is so many choices it's hard to choose. I people who will swear by a remington 700, a winchester 70, or a ruger. I have been searching for awhile now myself and finally have made my decision. I used to bea Remington junky but I've had issues with quality on some of their newer products, Winchester pre-64 model 70s are wonderful weapons which I had been thinkin alot about. The Rugers seem pretty nice but everytime I would look around the Browning A-bolt just felt *right* to me. It felt as though it belonged in my hands and that is what I have chosen. So just do your research on all the big guns on the market and then go toss 'em up and see how they feel.

I had a Savage model 16 in 270 wsm with the accutrigger. The gun shot darn good but I could never get used to the trigger so I let someone talk me out of it. On hindsight I probably should have kept that rifle.

You probably don't want to hear this but stay away from anything but a Howa,A or Xbolt or Sako 75or 85 in a WSM action. They are that smooth.

I looked into getting a Howa in .270WSM but they don't make one. However, they do have a Weatherby Vanguard in .270WSM.

Browning A/X Bolt. Either one will be great. I am prejudiced though.

It appears they don't. They may not want to pay Jamisons royalty.
