RE: Synthetic or Laminated
I favor my Stainless/ synthetic over any of my wood stock guns. They really take a beating. The last thing I want to worry about in the field is my stock.
There is one critical thing I look for with any synthetic stock, NOISE .
Hold the rifle by the forearm and tap the cheek area with your finger nails. Then rake them over the stock. If it sounds dead it wont give you away as readily as one that sounds like a instument.

RE: Synthetic or Laminated
To me it' s a matter of preference. I have a couple Laminated stocks and some of the Ruger" All Weather" rifles.Let' s face it if you use your rifle it' s going to get dinged. The Laminated stock will show these nicks and dents allot more then the Synthetic stocks.. My All Weather' s get used and bruised but unless you really look close they look new.The Synthetic stocks are allot more foregiving.I do like the laminated stocks. For hard use in the field I' ll stick with a synthetic stocks.
