The Browning A-Bolt Micro hunter is a shorter version of the A-Bolt hunter. Just like the Micro Medallion was a shorter version of the A-Bolt Medallion.
It has a shorter length of pull and the Micro is only available in Short action calibers. Ie... .243, 7mm-08, .260, .308 etc... The standard A-Bolt Hunter is available in Long action calibers like the .270, the 30.06, or the 7mm mag.
The Micro's are not really a youth gun, they are just a more compact version of their full sized brothers, in short action calibers.
They are very nice and very handy guns. The shorter length, and lighter weight makes for a great rifle to carry and use out of any kind of stands.
I would highly recommend the micro hunter, unless you are just wanting something in a long action caliber. If so, then the full size gun is necessary. But some Micros, I believe, are also available in the WSM's cartridges, since they are short.

Michael is correct. It is a scaled down version of the A bolt Hunter. And like the Hunter the blueing has a matte finish and the stock has sort of a satin oil finish. (as best as I can describe it.) I have 2 of them, both lefties. One in 7-08 and the other in 325 WSM. Out of all the centerfire rifles I have, excluding the Marlin guide gun, these two are the most used for hunting. They are quick and accurate rifles and a pleasure to carry all day. The 7-08 is topped with a Leupold Vari X II 3-9 and the 325 has a Burris Short Mag scope on it.
