Not all synthetic stocks are molded plastic.Mcmillans are synthetic but are made of fibreglass and resins instead of molded plastics. What some people choose to call composite would still be classed as synthetic since unlike wood which occurs naturally it is man made.

Personally I like wood stocks better, but I' d go with the synthetic. I had a wood stock on my 30-06 that ended up swelling and splitting after 11 days moose hunting in AK. I replaced it with a synthetic and have really enjoyed it.
