Remington 710...junk? I think not...
Listen guys, I' ve been hearing lots of crap about Remington' s new 710 model. I' ve heard lots of things like, " the stock is ugly" and " the barrel is non-replacable" . It may not look like a nice gun, but it shoots great. It' s the first gun I got. I' m a beginner hunter too, and this rifle is suited perfectly for beginners who dont want to spend loads of money on a new gun. Just thought I would clear things up

To each their own, I'm glad you're satisfied with your Remington 710 and I wish you the best with it.I'm sure for a beginners rifle it serves it's purpose. It is a beautiful bear using a 710 or not! Ruger Redhawk

First, that's obviously a doctored picture. Second, there are other rifles out there that aren't pieces of junk for the same money or less, savage comes to mind along with a whole host of used rifles. No one bashes the 710 because it's inexpensive, they bash it because it's cheaply made crap.

My point was that the 710 is not just a peice of junk. I hear lots of bad things about it, but never good things, and as you can see, this gun is not any old peice of junk. I'm just tired of hearing so many negative things about it. Here are some reviews of the 710...
I really liked the last paragraph on this one....http://www.galleryofguns.com/Shootin...les.asp?ID=781

That's my point boltman, people are always saying how bad they THINK the 710 is, but for someone like me, its a fine peice of equipment.

I have fired a 710 myself and although I would not call it junk I certainly would not buy one.I could never learn to live with such a rough action. It almost feels as though it is full of grit.

why the hell would anyone that has enough money to go hunt a grizzly buy a pos gun like the 710? makes no sence at all. i've fired a 710 at the range and you couldn't pay me to go hunt with one.

PA, if you are happy with the gun that is all that matters. These guys put down the 30-30 all the time but that doesn't bother me. I bet you anything that the guys who put down the 710 have never used one. They just like putting other people down to make themselves feel big.
