winchester model 12 12 gauge problem?
I recently got a 1940 era Winchester Model 12 2 3/4 chamber model Full choke 12 gauge shotgun. It is able to be taken apart easily. I will try to make a video or send pics soon. When i have the gun together and it is uncocked it is normal but when i cock it it stopd but the forend keeps going out and the magazine tube keeps going too. i cannot take the gun apart without doing this. this is probably very confusing but i will make a video of me showing it. there might now be a problem at all but i just wanna check

If you look at the end of the forearm - actually the end of the magzine under the barrel there should be a pin that you can push/pull out. When you have that pulled out and the barrel insterted into the receiver you need to rotate that pin to lock the barrel, magazine into the reciever. Then push the pin back in.
Let me know if this made any sense - If not I will go get one of mine and take some digital photos...

Part #52 Magazine locking pin is what you are looking for

The mag tube will turn a quarter turn left as viewed from the action end and the sliding pin will keep it from turning back .
The mag tube must be pushed all the way downto its stop .My dad has one that the mag plunger touches first and requires a little pressure to seat , darned thing came back from Winchester that way in '69.

As the pin protrudes from the magazine, the longestend lays along your barrrel. Use your thumb to push this protruding end back through the magazine so that the other end sticks out. Use this end as a lever to rotate the entire magazine counterclockwise (as you lookinto the muzzle) about a third of a turn. With the action open, the entire magazine may nowbe pulled out of the receiver. Rotate the barrel and the magazine as a unit a half turn and pull from the receiver. Reverse the process to reassemble.
