New Coyote Rifle?

New Coyote Rifle?
I've been tossing around the idea of getting myself a new coyote rifle. I already have a few too many, but one more never hurts. I've decided its time for me to try out a 22-250 of my own.
I've been looking at the Remington 700 LV SF, and the new Remington 700 VTR.
I don't like the idea of a muzzlebreak on a 22-250, as they are already a very loud rifle the way it is, whats everyones thoughts on this?
I want something weather resistant. This will be a truck gun all year, and I don't like rusty firearms.
Anyone else have any suggestions on rifles. It also needs to be fairly lightweight, as it will be a walking predator rifle, but it also needs to be accurate to dust distant critters such as p-dogs.
Scope will more than likely be my Leupold VX II 4-12x40 till funds allow for a VX III 4.5-14x40 with the Varmint reticle.

I prefer magazines for my coyote rifles. A lot easier to throw in a couple rounds. Plus its easier storage in your pocket when driving from one sitting to another. Just my opinion. But........that VTR looks pretty effin mean!!!!!!!!

22/250 is a mean machine out to 300 yds and it's usually hard to spot a coyote farther away than that anyway. Muzzle break on a .22/250 makes about as much sense as putting a high compression butt plate on it. Like you say, the gun is loud enough as is and it doesn't kick. A break is just a chunk of scrap iron.
Forgive me, but I don't understand the fascination with fast twists. I know the current hip thing to do with .224 cal rifles is to see how heavy a projectile we can stuff down the bore but I'll go on record as thinking it's silliness. What's wrong with the normal twist? There's not a coyote alive that won't die a swift and terrible death from a decent hit with a 55 gr bullet.
Maybe I'm just a product of where I grew up on the plains and badlands of southern New Mexico where long shots were pretty common. I grew up thinking Fast and Flatis the way to go and this was just what the .22/250 was designed to do. Anyone who wants a bigger bullet should just buy a .243...or did I miss something along the way?

It doesn't have a screw on muzzlebrake, its built right into the barrel from the factory. Not sure what to think of that.

I'm not a fan of heavy .224 caliber bullets either. I shoot alot of coyotes each year with 50-55gr bullets, and its a bang flop. I also like to vaporize jacks and pdogs with 40gr bullets. Luckily my AR15 shoots 50-55gr bullets good.
I busted a coyote this morning with my 243 and a 60gr HP.
