Should I buy these guns?
A freind's dad passed away a few months ago. He left some guns, She want's to know if I am interested in purchasing them. She (and I)have no idea what they are worth. I want to give her a fair price for them. Does anyone know how to get a $value for these? Also,I can get them without registering them, which I am not sure about. It would be nice to have a few guns and not have "uncle sam" aware of them. The guns are:Winchester model 1894 .30 w.c.f.nickle/steel,
winchester model 62a .22 pump,remington model 11 auto,colt auto .25 pistol(older one),And a Bohmische,waffenfabrik a.g.in prag. 7,65. Any info, and comments would be appreciated.

I'd go to antiqueguns.com. Make sure you are accurate in description and condition and the guys there will tell you all you could ever want to know about these fine firearms. The 1894 has a wide value range, so to know the value, be very specific. there were like 5,000,000 of these made. The 62A may also be special, depending on the markings, and worth some $$$. The model 11 had many configurations, but in good condition, it's worth$200-$400. I don't know what the colt is unless it's a vest pocket model 1908-hammerless....got me. And the last one....???Turkish mauser????
Someone else would know a lot more.
She can sell them to you with no registration or anything. Totally legal to sell between private partys. You MAY owe her several thousand dollars.

Write down all the info that's stamped on the guns, go to a good local gun shop, and see if the owner will let you look them up in the current edition of the Blue Book of Used Gubn values, or similar publication. Most gun shops have them.

RE: Should I buy these guns?
I would write down the makes, model numbers, calibers, and good descriptions of the guns in question and then go to Barnes and Noble or Borders and get several of the gun digest or blue books and look them up. You will have to take into consideration the condition of the guns when coming up with a good price.
Also, talk to the woman and see how much she is looking to get out of the guns. Tell her the truth about the values of them and ask her if she would take $$ and make her a fair offer.
