RE: Encore Rifled slug barrel
I have a friend who lives in Ohio. He has the 20 gauge barrel for his Encore. He swears by it. He uses the Hornady 20 gauge saboted bullet's. He swears his 20 gauge is accurate out to 200 yards. I am going to get one this summer. I may get to hunt with him next year.
With your knowledge of ballistics,I am sure you are impressed with the ballistics of all the new ammo available for shotguns. My friend swears by the Hornady. Tom.

Yep, I have been wanting to take advantage of the new 385gr ammo. But my slugguns doesn't like them. I have tried the winchester partitions, coreloks, and SST's. Still likes 1oz copper solids. Hopefully the new barrel might. Not sure of the twist

I think the 12 ga is 1/28, wouldn't bet my life on it. I don't believe that is a gaurantee that it will work with the lighter faster ammo, but it can't hurt.
I wish they would come out with a faster twist rate barrel for the H&Rs.

Yes they are drilled and tapped.
My BIL uses one exclusively with a little burris on it. He shoots 1.5" groups at 100 yds using the federal barnes loads. Works very well for him.
