Default Will an M77 stock fit a M77 MKII?

Will a stock from a M77 (tang safety) fit a MKII? All this talk about the barreled actions in the other thread, and I just remembered I have two stocks for an M77 that I can use.

There is a difference in the tang if I am not mistaken and the stock on the tang safety models is deeper then the MK series..Not sure if there are any other differences but that would be enough not to make it work. Look at www.mcmfamily.comand they should have separate listings for the 2 ruger action types

Tang models have tang cut out for safety and will leave a unsightly gap-other than that-you can relieve for side safety and make work.

You can make anything work but it doesn't mean it will work well. There must be a reason that Mcmillan has 2 versions of their stock available.
