Of those three choices, I'd go for the .260 Rem in a heartbeat. For those who say that the .260 is a bit light for elk, in Scandinavia, the 6.5x55 is the round used by most of the moose hunters, and they consistently take moose with it. It's all about bullet placement, and a light-recoiling round will be one that will have less flinching by the shooter. Hence, less of an opportunity to put one in a bad spot.

i have a 260 rem in a mountain rifle and i love it. it works excellent on deer, very accurate (1/2 moa), no recoil and the gun is nice and light to carry in the woods. i didn't get a chance to go moose hunting this year but next year i plan on using a 140gr barnes x bullet and hunting moose with my 260.

Well I don't shoot a 260, I do shoot the swede. With a good load worked up your talking sub moa from a scoped gun. The 6.5 mm bullet goes up to 160 gr has incredible section density. I load the 85 gr hp for ground hogs and 140 gr for deer. As long as you keep the velocity in the proper range, the rest is up to you.
