Default New Muzzleloader...please help!

Hello all,

I'm in the market for a new muzzleloader, I was just wondering what the best on the marker is today. I've been looking at the TC Encores and Omegas, but thats just because I've heard a little about them on TV and stuff....what do you guys recommend?

thanks for any help!!!

T/C's are great muzzleloaders. A little pricy though.

Look into CVA's - less expensive, great shooting. I have an Optima Elite (you can change out the barrel from black powder to centerfire).

Personally, I really want a Knight Rolling Block now. My wife's gonna kill me one of these days.

Personally, I'd pay that little bit more to net that T/C warranty.

Heard a few rumors you can't beat it................

T/C is great. I have had an Encore for 7 years now and it shoots great. But if you are not wanting to spend alot of money I would look real hard at the CVA. The optima pro has a great trigger, easy to clean and they shoot real well. I looked ath the new T/C triumph and was pretty fond of it too.

Get a Savage 10ML-II. I've owned half a dozen different muzzleloaders over the years, but once I got my Savage, the other rifles never see the light of day. T/C's are great guns, but the Savage is better. Plus, if it's legal in your state, shooting smokeless powder can't be beat. But even if I couldn't shoot smokeless powder, my 10ML-II would still be my "go-to" ML.

Natchez Shooters Supply carries the full line of 10ML-II's, and they are very reasonably priced.

X2 for the Savage. I was skeptical about them until I won one. Well, my beloved Encore got the boot and was sold off. The Savage is built like a tank, has an adjustable trigger, three position tang safety, and no exposed hammer to contend with. Not to mention milder recoil and being able to see the target after the shot!

The best thing about the encores is the fact that you can also get centerfire and rimfire(now) barrels in either rifle, muzzleloader, shotgun,or handgun flavors.
