I am sorry, but you would be a fool to by a scope from cabelas or Bass Pro. There are many stores that you will be able to get one alot cheap then those two.

Outdoor Wizard - I think that's a little out of line. There are a variety of factors that go into a purchase decision, price is just one of them. Maybe I'm getting a bunch of stuff at the same time, and your store doesn't stock that merchandise. Maybe I like Cabela's return policy, or Bass Pro's customer service. Go ahead and give us the link to your web store. We can browse and do price comparisons ourselves.

Cal,
Don't get me wrong, I too buy stuff from Cabela's and Bass Pro. My comment was if someone was just buying a scope or pair of binoculars. Here is an example: Leupold Var-X III 3.5-10x40, Cabela's $488.00 with shipping charges, our store ( and others) $413.00 shipping included, bases on 2002 prices. To me a $75.00 savings could buy a new set of rings and bases, lens covers and others. Just my opinion, take it as you may.

Outdoor Wizard - I hear you, and agree on the pricing. My thought was, as a representative of The Optic Zone, the more appropriate angle would have been to invite people to come check out your web site. The forums have a "no advertising or product marketing" rule, not certain which side of the line this'd fall on. If site/company reps take shots at each other the whole forum could suffer.
