RE: 20 ga. ultra slug load advice.
I have a 20 ga ultra and have tried a few differrentslugs and have found most do well. I settled on the CCS slugs that I load myself. The factory loaded ones do just a well but I prefer to make my own.I had good result from the Remington copper solids but they are just too expensive for me. I like to shoot often at the range and that can run into some big money. At least it is big to me. I have heard Buckhammers do well but they kick like the devil. Again cost can become a fator. One thing I can assure you is that the 20 ga ultra slug hunter is one very accurate gun.

I have a 20gauge Ultra Slugger and shoot Lightfields in it. It will shoot a 1 hole group at 50 yards. I have 3X9 Weaver scoope. I can shoot 4" groups out to 125 yards and would take a 150 yard shot with confidence. But most of the areas I hunt 100 yards would be about the max.

A few years ago when we picked up our 20 gauge USH I picked up aALOTof the Remington CopperSolids at like $3 or $4 a box being cleared out at Kmart stores. It shot those very well.
When they ran out I went right to the Brenneke 3-inch magnum loads. Why because I shoot Brenekkes out of my 12 gauge USh and have for alot of years with great success.
The Brennekes shoot friggin awesome out of the 20 USH. If you saw my 12 yr ols shoot that gun you'd think he had been thru sniper training.
We're going hunting the 1st weekend of Oct in S. IL and the boys got a permit!
Don't listen to those that say you HAVE to shoot sabots because it's a rifled barrel. You may have to clean it more often, but ultra clean firearms are a given in my (our) eyes! BIG LEAD = BIG DEAD

hastings is making a new 3.5" 20ga. super mag slug w/ very impressive ballistics. 2000fps MV, 3650 ft/lbs ME and only like a 4" drop @ 150yards. if you shoot an Ultra slugger you can send it in and they will rechamber your barrel for $75....
