I don't think it's worth expending the mental energy on these choices. Pick one and go. Or, just stick with your '06, and spend the $$ on ammo & gas getting to the shooting range.
I just got back from 10 days in hunting camp in BC, & theguides/outfitters therewould just shrugg their shoulders when it came to cartridge discussions - they ALL work if you put 'em in the right place! They've had clients from Russia, Europe, Asia, South America... you name it, and they've seen just aboutevery cartridgecome through their territory. FWIW, the Owner/Outfitter has carried a .30-'06 since he started guiding in 1984.

I have the t3 lite in a 300WSM, which had a good kick. I added a limbsaver pad, which helped considerably, as the factory "pad" was a hard piece of plastic! My setup weighs 7 lbs with a Vari-xII, which is a good 2+ lbs less than my300Win with a Kahles 50mm scope.I only weigh 165 lbs, and the recoil is very manageable. The limbsaver will add a few ounces of weight if you are concerned about saving every possible ounce.

I have a 300 wsm in the browning stainless stalker and i love it. It shots better then the long action 300 mag i had, the recoil is about the same but i put a simms recoil pad on it. The 270 wsm would be my choice.(in the browning of course)
