.45 Winchester Magnum
I need more info. Asking for a friend who is hung up on anything .45. He's a retired Marine (not that there's anything wrong with that) who carried 1911 while he was active and would like more info on this round. Anything you have would be appreciated

Its a elongated 45 ACP with nearly twice the energy of the ACP. Its mostly used these days for silhouette shooting in the Encore. Also found in the LAR Grizzle pistol. I think Clint Eastwood used one in a movie. There was also a 9MM Win Mag. Neither cartridge found much favor with shooter.

Another cartridge to consider is the .460 rowland. It produces approx. the same power as the .44 magnum and the best thing is the fact that almost any 1911 can be easily and safely converted to this excellent cartridge.
