RE: trouble pumping a pump action shotgun
cayugad, said it well, don't be timid about pumping back and forward.
Trying to be quiet on stand before first light, I loaded up in the tree stand
and slowly and quietly push the slide forward. First deer by pulled trigger and nothing, seems I was loaded by not locked. I also have had 3" mag.
shells hang up in the eject port by short stoking after firing and not following thru on the ejection. Good thing I've learned not to repeat these mistakes (too often). Then there was the time I shot straight down off the stand with 12 ga. slug and scope. Got the scar to prove it.
All in all my Rem 870SP is my deer and turkey gun.
Good luck and welcome to the forum.
