Default Which deer handguns have a flat trajectory?

I'm thinking about getting a handgun for deer, and I'm wondering which calibers are known for a flat trajectory?

If you look at the t/c contender or savage striker, you can get them chambered for about any rifle round. I guess if I were going to hunt with a traditional pistol round, I'd probably shoot 180 or 200 gr XTP's out of a 44 mag @ about 1500 fps. Other options would be 454 casull, 480 ruger, etc, but recoil will besimilar to the contender ina rifle round.

I hunt with a 44mag and 460. I am pretty amazed at the 460 flatness. I am sighted in at 100 yards, and it drops 10" at 200 yards. I have verified this myself. I am not sure I could hit anything with a 44mag at 200 yards. But I still love my 44mag.

If you want a pistol cartridge then the 460 S&W. Otherwise you can get something like a Savage Striker (if you can find one) or a T/C Encore/Contender pistol and shoot rifle cartridges [8D]

Any of the single shots that chamber rifle cartridges.

Give your definition of flat. It's pistol hunting for a reason

Roger that! Flat for a pistol is relative. Rifle cartridge or not it won't be as fast coming out of a pistol length barrel
