The J.C. Higgins Model 45 is a marlin 336 with the J.C. Higgins stamp on it to be sold by Sears.

I once had a Model 45 in .35 Remington. It had regular, rather than microgroove, rifling. It shot cast 200-grain RCBS flatnose bullets just as accurately as jacketed ones, and using the same powder charge at about the same velocities!
