Depends on what you want to do with it and how much money you want to spend. 870's are great, but no better than a Mossberg 500 (which cost less and come with three chokes).
The Nova is a great gun as well, but barrels are expensive and the gun is ugly as sin.
The BPS is probably the best out right now, but costs more as well.
The H&R pardner is a great gun for the money as well. The down side is it's made in china and I don't know how hard it would be to get parts for it if you did have a problem.
As far as function they are all great guns and pretty equal, except the BPS. The browning is clearly a better gun, but is a step up from a remington express in both quality and price.
My opinions anyway.

I like the BPS the best but I have owned several 870's of all variates and never had a seconds problem with them. The BPS is just a personal preference.
