1938 Nazi 8mm Ammo--is it worth anything?
I just aquired 2 stripper clips(5 rounds each)in original box of 8mm ammo. The rim of the ammo has 1938 stamped on the bottom and also the below pic is stamped on the rim. The box also has the same pic along with some German I can't understand written on the box.
The package\rounds are all in very good shape
I got this from a reliable source and was wondering if its worth anything to sell or should I just be happy with some memorabila.
Any info would be helpful

If it were me I'd just keep it. I'm sure it is worth something, especially since everything looks to be in good shape, even the box, but I would want to keep it to have. There will never be any more of that run made.

That's Nazi marked 8X56R ammo. If I'm right, and actually not sure, then it's a round needed by the Steyr ManlicherM95's that have been available for the past 15 years. I've some of the same stuff (and one of the rifles), and I think mine is marked '38 as well. I've seen this ammo and the clips on E-bay for ridiculous asking prices compared to what I paid several years back.
To be honest I haven't been checking the prices on it for awhile but I think it may stil be availbable, maybe even in quantity, if you look hard enough.

Its Steyr-mannlicher ammo and its fairly common. Ita availability is on and off, sometimes suppliers have cases of the stuff for low prices, right now noone seems to have it. A year ago, they couldn't give the stuff away, but now an importer has imported a huge number of Steyr-mannlichers and ammo is scarce.

Never seen that before, but I have fired a box of 7.62x39 ammo, from 1939, and it was French! I saw the empty cardboard box in the ammo case, and when I read it, I thought it was funny that 60-year old ammo shot so well as it did!
It said something like
"Metalfabrikken
(gibberish) 7.62x39 cartouche
Anul 1939"
It looked like any old cardboard box, I wonder if any of you guys know if it was worth anything?

"Cartouche" doesn't sound German, and the stuff that I called "Gibberish" probably didn't sound German either, maybe you should search an online German and French dictionary, try "Anul", which probably means, "year"
and then "Cartouche".
and then "Cartouche".
