It is going to be more for punching paper at 200 yards. I will use it sometimes in little tournaments at the gun range i go to but noone has a full custom bench rifle. I dont reload so i need to be able to get factory ammo for it. IM trying to get somewhere around 1/2in to 3/4in groups with it at 100 yards.

I have a Savage heavy barreled .17 HMR that is capable of that sort of accuracy (and its got to be off a bench, because I cannot shoot that well). The gun will shoot primers out of shotgun shell hulls all day, its flat out amazingly accurate. We have taken out crows in the fields out to around 275 yards. Much beyond that, and the bullet is little more than dust in the wind. And speaking of the wind, thats the rounds only serious short coming. A 5mph crosswind will throw you off a yard at 250. Got to be still if you want to shoot much past 125.
