How big is BIG?

Unless your hogs are700 or 800 poundsthen cartridge selection is irrelevant. All of them have exceptional bullets available that will smash through bone and give quick kills.

The .270 isone ofmy absolute favorite cartridges because it can simply do nearly anything asked of it on this continent. I certainly don't consider it a "dangerous game" cartridge and would not use it for thatbut I don't consider the 30-06 and 7mm mag one either.

As far as rifles go the Remington is my choice long before the Browning.

If you don't like the 30-06's recoil, a limbsaver pad is soooo amazing! My grandpa put one on his Winchester Model 70 XTR, and we were at the range, and we had set up some empty shotgun shells 50 yards away to shoot at with the 22 LR, and he tried shooting the shotgun shells with the 30-06! So basically,he turned the gun into a plinker!!!!!

I'll take a lefthanded browning a-bolt any day(more choices in calibers)

Without hesitation,I would choose the 700.There is a great variety of products available to customize them,while the list is short for the a-bolt.As well, I hate the magazine system on the a-bolt.As for caliber,I have always prefered the 7mm over the .277.

I'd choose the Browning over the Remington. Brownings are already glass bedded an free floated from the factory, and have an adjustable trigger. Not much more to customize about them

I currently have one Bronwing A-Bolt and 2 Remington 700s, and my A-bolt in 7mm Rem mag outshoots both my Remingtons.

I'd go for the 7mm Rem Mag, just cause I like it
