RE: help me pick a rifle for 300 WSM
To shoot a 300wsm in such a short barrel in my opinon would be a waste of powder, it needs at least24 inch barrel to burn all the powder efficiently. With that said, I have a Kimber in 300 wsm and it's fairly lightat just a tad over 7lbs. It shoots Nosler Accubonds into 3/4" clusters at 100 yards with a charge of R-19.
It's not much to look at but someone mentioned the "porn" word.
Ruger make it's short barreled Frontier model but I dont think it's chambered for the 300 wsm but it is in the 308 win.

300 WSM with wood stock; I would go with either the Browning Micro Hunter or Savage American Classic. The Browning will cost more than the Savage. All my Savages shoot very well. While both Brownings I have shoot good now, one required a bedding job to get the accuracy I demanded.

CMA...
I have the same rifle and love it!!! Shoots very well with my loads(MOA). Had it worked a bit by a smith because the trigger was lousy as usual from a factory rifle and had the crown recut to 11 degrees. Now, look out any and all critters... withthe Leupold 4.5-14 VXIII on it, you're dead where ya' stand!!!!
