Default Assault Weapon Ban, here we go again

I posted this in the politics forum too, but thought it too important not to post here as well. It looks like the Assault Weapons Ban is being reintroduced. I borrowed this excerpt from an online petition site:

This is NOT the cosmetic bill from the Clinton era and does NOT include
a sunset expiration, this one DOES ban many more guns, not just
features, going so far as to ban WWII era rifles such as the M1 Garand
and semi-automatic shotguns. Do your homework, learn about the details and contact your representative, act locally, raise awareness.

Here's A link to an online petition against this if you're interested in signing:

The petition is a good idea and I hope that everyone will sign it.
Here is the link to view the Bill.

Clinton did wonders for the value of my gun collection.
I would rather have freedom wo shoot what I want.

These firearms aren't "assault weapons", they are standard technology semi-automatic firearms technology that's been around and used by the vast majority of owners for over 100 years. Some are only "uglier". Ugly never hurt anyone.

I signed, sealed and delivered by John Henry on the petition, too. Thanks.
