the gun would not bemy first chioce the action on a 710 is very rough but the gun is extremly accurate. If you dont mind a rough action then the gun would be fine.

CZ 527 American and Savages plain package with scope in .223 Rem or .22-250 as the two quich choices.
I only use my .243 on really windy days for longer shots because of the heavier bullets. They fly a bit better in heavy wind.
Savage has a 10GPX3 w/ Accutrigger in .223 rem or .22-250 with a Simmons 3x9x40 scope for $556.00
CZ527 American- no scope same calibers- MSRP $664.00
Got mine NIB at a shop in NY for $309.00 in .223- a real shooter too!
Easy on the wallet and excellent out of box accuracy for a new comer.
Good luck!

I picked up a Savage 110 chambered in .270 win as my first rifle. I've been nothing but happy with it at the range, have yet to take it in the field. I spent somewhere in the neighborhood of $354 brand spankin new at walmart. That included a 3x-9x scope, which I hear that particular model that comes with the package isn't the best choice, but it will work for now.

Avoid the 710. Do some searches on the various forums and you'll understand. Keeping it inexpensive, I'd look at Savage.
Also, since when is the desired outcome to "blow up" a coyote?

You could get a Remington Model 700 SPS in .223, I think they make it in that caliber, or maybe it's the .22-250. That'll cost you $500 minus the scope brand new.
Or, you could get a Ruger MKII in .220 Swift, it's a VERY accurate rifle at 100 yards, and it'll do great on longer shots if you practice.

There's nothing wrong with the .243, but get one in a Weatherby Vanguard or a Savage. If you have to buy a Remington, save up your cash until you can afford a M700 or a Model 7. Look on the gun auction sites...they can save you big bucks!
