Default BOSS?

Does anybody have or that just knows exactly what the BrowningBoss (Balistic optimizing shooting system) is, how it works and if its any good?

It says somthing about shooting more accurate or somthing like that.

I heard from someone a couple years ago that they werent very good.

Just wondering what you guys Know/think about this.

They work but they are LOUD. There is a CR model which is not loud.

If you are a reloader, you don't need a BOSS system.

Would I buy another one? No. Looks funky on the end of the barrel and I have not found a rifle that I couldn't tune a load for.

Browning had a contest a while back to test the BOSS system. The fellow that won shot under 1/4" group at 100m using his handloads, the BOSS system, and aBrowning A-Bolt .243 Win. or.223 Rem. I would not mind owning a rifle with the BOSS system. Good luck.

I own one on my A-Bolt .270wsm. I really like it, I wear hearing protection all the time so the sound doesnt bother me but having almost no kick is great. I can shoot it all day long and not feel it. My buddy has a A-bolt .270 without a boss and we compared the two and its night and day. But if you do your own loading you dont really need it but I dont so boss is even better for me.

Shot the group below with a browning 7mm with boss, have sold the rifle since so don't remember the setting but the group was with factory 162 gr bullets.
Had a browning 300wsm with boss and it shot very well too but both took awhile to find the right settings for reloads, because I do reload is why I sold them both.

It's worked great on my M70 .300 WinMag (with handloads). To reduce ear damage I hunt with the CR (conventional recoil) version.

Buddy, it's always wise to use ear pertection, but if you don't it can blow adrum. I shot the .338 A-bolt w/Bossbetween two boulders in CO. and I thought I had blown one for sure!

I have it on Win Model 70 in .270 and love it. Yes its loud, but I wear ear plugs. Using my handloads of IMR 4895 45 grs, 130 gr Nosler Ballistic tips, Boss setting of 1.4, I shoot under .60" groups at 100yds and just a little over 1" at 200 yds. If I set the Boss at .8 my groups open up to 1.1" at 100 yds.

Just my opinion good luck with any way you go.
