I have the bull barrel, blued and synthetic version of Savage's .17 HMR. Deadly deadly little rig. Great value, very tough to beat at any price.
Good way to go for sure.

I have the standard heavy barrel and the only problem is the mag. Not enough rounds and extras about a little pricy. Some body needs to make a high cap mag for them. Once that is done I'll be good to go.

I have the standard heavy barrel ugly wood version before the accu trigger came out. I fixed the trigger myself after reading some "how to's" on rimfire central.
It has a 400 dollar 20 power varmint scope on it, cost twice what the gun did[]. I LOVE this gun!!
I was comparing a bunch of .22 long rifle ammo one day at 50,75 and 100 yards for drop and accuracy. Just for the heck of it I decided to compare it to my 17HMR savage. I fired 3 shots at each yardage. 9 rounds total and they all went in a group a dime could cover. That is freakin impressive for a rimfire to me.

Paul I must agree.. I love the savage .17HMR.. To me it shoots like a dream. Although, alot of people put the savage down.. for it's cheap price. I think it's a really good company and a quality gun. I never had a problem.
The Funny thing is if they raised the price of their guns 200 dollars, people would be complaining or just saying it's a better gun now better quality.. you can never win !!

savage rifles are starting to impress me more and more. that 17HMR is a nasty little round. I compared the savage to the marlin 17HMR side by side. I honestly feel like the savage was better built and fit and finish on the savage was definitely ahead of the marlin. Both had SS bull B's and laminate pepper/grey stock which is very nice

I just purchased a Savage 93 17HMR with the bull barrel( 21"), accu-trigger, scoped package for $239.00. The scope is a simmons 3x9.
Pretty? Heck no...Plain old birch stock, etc.Shooter? Hell yes!!! This rifle is worth the money and shoots like a dream. I agree, the scope could be replaced with better glass to really make this a 150-200 yard package for little critters.
The out of the box trigger was perfect! Good factory adjustment job.
I think I found my new squirrel rifle! Groundhogs- beware, this tack driver will be great on small farms close to housing developments or newer developments- quiet and frangible- ricochets doubtful due to the light construction of these 17 grainers.
Worth every penny IMHO!
