With the heaviest 30 caliber bullets, the 300 WM will outperform the 300 WSM. By enough to make any real world difference? Not IMO.

I have read that wsm advertised velocities are inflated. Any body chrono them ?
I also know that the Encore is not chambered in the WSM's, someting about pressures. The Ruger #1 also is not chambered in them for that reason.

If you want a lighter magnum gun weight, shorter action, and same velocity performance as the 300WMandalittle better velocity performancewith 150-165 grain bullets, buy a 300WSM.Most guys that shoot WSM's and WM's will tell you the short-fat cases increase their accuracy and performance. Read up on it, it's very interesting even if the tighter groups at longer distances with WSM'sdon't effect your style of hunting. I think WSM's are a great alternative to traditional magnums.

I think you mean equal velocity with 150-165 Grain bullets.

Looked at different tables and yes they are almost identicle in those projectiles, the 300WSM is alittle faster. Sorry if that bothers you.[]

Yes, the 300 WSM operates at a higher pressure, and, I have chronyd 300 WSM factory loads they are about 100-150 fps off the advertised velocity, so, you can't always believe what you see. And BTW, the .300 Win Mag loads were usually right on the money, or prtty close.

To what, reloading manuals or what’s advertised for ammo from manufactures?...
