RE: scrubbing the bore of a rifle
What do you guys think of Hoppes Bench Rest?Ive been using it with so so results.I mop the bore ,then run the brush through 3 times, then follow with dry patches. No matter how many patches i run through it i still have some black on them.My first shot out of my rifle with a clean barrel is always a stray.Mr groups tightnen up after the first shot.Should i try a different method?

Bench rest, you have to leave in overnight with a soaked bore. I think its too weak in my opinion. Too weak means lots of scrubbing. Lots of scrubbing and sooner or later, you screwed up the bore by accidently scraping the throat, or rifling.
