I found this scope on sale for $219. I think it is one he** of a price. I want to put it on a Ruger 10-22. I have a question about the adjustments. Does anyone know if the scope has click adjustments? Or is it friction adjustment? The Nikon web site is a nightmare.

I do not have any experience with the Leupold VX-I 3 X 9 X 40. How do these two scopes compare? Thanks, Tom.

Whatever brand scope you get,be SURE that it has adjustable parallax.
All centerfire type of rifle scopes has parallax set for 100-150 yards. With adjustable objective, you can adjust parallax/focus for closer ranges normally assc. with rimfire shooting.
That said, leupold is my favorite brand of AMERICAN made scopes. You might look at the leupold 3x-9x efr model.

Head...I have a 3x9x33 Leupold VX-II Compact on my Remington 541-T....It came from the factory parallex adjusted for 150 yards....I sent it back to Leupold and they adjusted the parallex for me at 75 yards...I can't really say that it makes a great deal of difference but I wanted it changed...This is my main .22 for squirrels and I have killed many at 50 yards with this setup...I don't know if Nikon can have this done for you, might want to check it out...Good Luck

This is the same scope I have on my 10/22 Deluxe. I've never had a problem with the parallax being set for 150 yards. I've killed a ton of squirrel's and rabbits with mine to no avail. I've got adjustable objective Leupold's on my 280 & 22-250. Most of the time they stay set on 100 yards unless I'm really shooting long distance at some type of critter. The price you list for the Monarch is a good price if the scope is new and not a refurb. I paid $159 for mine but it's a refurb model and I haven't had a lick of trouble with it. For a couple of years it was mounted on a 12 gauge slug barrel and it held up just fine.
