on the marlin 336c what do the letters after the numbers mean? thanks

C=Black Walnut available in 35 remington also
A=Birch stock
W=Birch stock gold trigger
SS=Stainless Steel

I am not sure but I think the 336 came from this???
1893 Marlin was redesined in 1936 and was renamed "36" and thenchangeda third time for safty reasons resulting in the 3rd 1893 or2nd 1936 the 336

There is also the CS model. The S standing for safety. This model has the cross hammer? safety button.
