Yeah, right now, the 50 BMG, is regarded just like any other firearm.

They are legal to own in ND. However they are not legal to hunt deer with. Estern ND is as flat as a table top and they shoot way to far to be safe to use with other hunters in the field. It should really be a shotgun/muzzle loader hunting zone.

I, personally, don't see what the big deal is with trying to restrict the 50 BMG, I mean, it's just like any other gun, its only as good/bad, as the person who owns it.

I think that it has to do more with the potential than anything. I mean a 1 mile + accuracy potential and armor piercing capabilities? I think that the government is scared that in the wrong hands it would be used against our own police and be able to cause some serious problems for them. The 50 BMG is no toy, and in the right (or wrong depending on how you look at it) hands, the gun could be a pretty serious threat.

I'm gonna buy one next deer, to take deer hunting. Seriously, I can get ammo for $30.00 for 50. but, its FMJ.

I got one cornered for $700.00, with 50 rounds of ammo, and some super duper scope, apparently, the current owner, is having problems, with it ejecting casings. That could be easily fixed by a smith, I'm sure, I just have to get the money rounded up, and, it'll be mine. Its an Armalite AR-50, BTW.

Well that would be the cheapest price I have ever heard of and I hope you know how to handle its power. For the sake of your friends and nieghbors. It is to be taken very serious, it is not a toy ,it will go though thing you never thought possible. Armilite's are just alittle friendlier on recoil but still will remove your fillings.
