I had a leather snap on me after about 5 years old.It was from the weather abuse it took. It all so costme a scope. Most all of our deer rifles have alaskan magnum slings on them now. Very comfortable and holds 4 extra shells quite well. I haven't lost a shell out of mine or seen any wear after7 years about.Very well constructed.

I've had the Ultraflex sling for four years, and I doubt I'll ever buy another sling! It is the most versatile sling I know of. You can use it in many different carry positions, it will not slip off your shoulder, and it makes the best hasty sling! Try this website: http://www.specialtyoutdoorproducts.net/

I need to purchase a strap or sling fora hunting rifle. Does anybody have any recomendations for a particular brand or style
There is a difference between a sling and carrying strap. You should think about which one you would want. A sling is used to help stabilize you/reduce muscle tension and carrying strap is just that.

I like the slings that are leather on the outside and a tacky rubber compound on the other. I also really like the neoprene slings from company that starts with a "V". Can't think of the name off hand.
