RE: Ithica Deer Slayer
Dr Death - I'm assuming you'd only want to use it for the Illinois Slug season, eh?
For bench shooting, the Ithaca Deerslayer is a beeotch. Even more so if you use high velocity slugs. For hunting, the Deerslayer is my favorite. I've shot deer with my Remington & Mossberg, but by far prefer the Ithica. It's lightweight, and it shoots very tight groups, even at longer ranges. I sight in at 150yards w/ Winchester Partition Gold slugs. At the bench, I can only take about a box of slugs to the shoulder before i'm D O N E. ( i've shot 2 boxes before, and felt it the next day )
In the field, I've never had a problem with recoil.
I've been using the Ithica for almost 4 years now ( give or take a year ).
