I bought a H&R Ultra Comp in .270 three weeks ago and my son and i didn't like the added noise and muzzle blast from the compensated barrel so i sold it shortly after i purchased it. I bought the Ultra Hunter in 25.06 Saturday and shot it for the first time today. This baby shoots like a dream with little recoil! I tried some factory Remington bullets just to see how it would shoot and it didn't group very well at all. I started working up a load with some Speer 120grn SP this afternoon and shot three groups of three. Two groups didn't look good but the third began to really tighten up. It got late and i didn't get to load anymore. I still have alot of work to do but i believe this gun will be a real shooter and a tack driver once i find the right bullet combination for it.

I had a NEF handyrifle in 30-06, it was a great little gun, light, accurate and very handy. I will probably buy another one soon, probably 45/70 or .280. My cousin had a 30-06 handyrifle rebarreled into a .300 weatherby mag, that was a kicking little toy. For the money you cant beat em.
