I have had a few rifles built by local gunsmiths. And from now on, no more. I took a look a Melvin Forbes NULA. Finest lightwight rifles available in my opinion. Shoots like a freaking benchrest gun. You can get it for 3K.

To me, that hobby of collecting custom rifles is too pricey, I think a regular gun can kill anything as good, if not better than a custom rifle.

Why did you choose that riflemaker? I'm just curious.

mostly by recommendation from past customers of the company and his shop is only about 2 hrs. from my house. I would rather spend my money close to home {Missouri} and be able to pick the rifle up myself so if there are any issues I can deal with them face to face and not have to play phone or e-mail tag as I have had to in the past. chad

Try Chris Matthews. He is in Garden City, MO. Link is my sig line.

best of luck
There are no prices listed on there!
Yup, your right. Each rifle job for him is different...depending on how you want a rifle spec'd out. In my opinion, a reputable custom rifle person cannot list prices...when he/she is doing jobs based on customer requests.

best of luck

Chad, IMHO...you cannot go wrong with Chris. He did a great job buildingus a competition/hunting rifle around an OLD .308rem 700 action.

best of luck
