Default removing the bead on a remington 870?

I've got a Remington 870 express 12 gauge and I'm trying to put a different site on it and according to the installation instructions you can just unscrew the old one, screw this one in and it's as simple as that.

Which I'm sure it is except the old one won't budge.

When I twist on it the bead itself is turning but it's not unscrewing from the barrell. Any suggestions?

Just keep trying, I had the same problem when tryingto install a Hi-Viz site on my Remington 870. It will come off eventually, you just have to get it past a certain point, BTW what are you using to unscrew it?

It took me 2 1/2 hours to get mine off, yeah, you gotta be gentle, I scraped up the rib pretty good with the pliers, but I just put another coat of blueing on it and good as new.

With my Remington SP-10 Magnum I found I had to pull up on the bead while rotating it to get it to come off.

The newgunshavepressed in beads. You must grabthe beadwith some vice grips from the sideand take a hammer and whack the grips upward to get it to pull straight out. After that you will have to drill and tap the hole to 6-48 or 8-40so that you can screw in a new bead.
