Default Which Recoil Pad Rem 700

I have a .270 Remington 700 BDL rifle and it has the old style curved butt. Are there any recoil pads that are pre-fit for this or do I have to cut the stock?I really don't want to if I don't have to. I also want the gun to look like it does now which has a white plastic piece between the butt plate and the stock.

Most pre-fits I have seen don't fit perfect, some are close but a touch out and yet some are off by a long ways. Sims do not have a curved pre-fit option for the 700, so you'll have to cut the stock square to use the SIMS product. Though this may not be a bad thing as the sims will increase your pull length by nature of being a thicker pad??It depends on the current pad thickness and how your fit is now vs later.Justsome food for thought.

Pachmayr say they have one for 96' to current curved plastic butt plate 700's (part #01712). Though make sure to either get a template and compare it to your rifle ortake the rifle to check or be sure you can bring it back if it doesn't work, before you buy.

Their may be other but these are the 2 I am familiar with.

Best option is a grind to fit. Contact a gunsmiths for cost.

Slip ons are also an option if you want functionover fancy.

Might check to see if the Remington R3 recoil pad will fit. Their web site has the 700 BDL listed as one of the models the pad will fit, but I don't know if that means it will fit the "old style curved butt" or not.

The R3's are only made for synthetic stock models.
