After reading this I will have to try one on my Winchester .270. It doenst have any recoil pad at all and it is kicking my butt. I like how the gun fits without one so I have been putting off buying a recoil pad for it, but now that I have started reloading I have got a lot of testing to do and a recoil pad is going to be a must. Thanks for the info guys.
